This one, I think you need to have a paper bag with some childhood fumes to truly enjoy. Most of the figures are utterly lovely, weird, or fun even when separated from the air of nostalgia. I figure it'll be going in the back of my display, mostly because while interesting it's just not something I'm thrilled to own.
I can't complain about how this figure turned out, so if you want a Snake Face you'll like it.
If you like the idea of Snake Face, this is a pretty slick figure - and if you don't, it's still good, just not terribly exciting for me personally. While I'm not a fan of the snake-covered helmet or the reptile face, it is difficult to deny the extra pennies put into the deco weren't well-spent. The staff plugs in to his fist, the snake shield plugs on to his wrist, and the head will pop on if you take off the original with a small twist. I assume in a few years anything could happen, but for now it's solid and that's what matters. Like most recent figures the joints are nice and tight and so far, it doesn't seem to be in any danger of face-planting. that I could easily find and complain about.

Even the armor is quite impressive - the black matte finish has glossy black highlights, plus a green Snake Men logo.

The scaley detail on each part of the figure is quite well done, from the cracked shoulders to the purple man panties. Many new parts are included here, including forearms with sculpted and painted green snakes wrapping them like some sort of barbed wire tattoo. The big advantage here is that he has actual eyes you can see, unless you find those disturbing, in which case you can just have the head where plastic snakes are crawling through his eyes. The head of the original had snakes which could slide in and out of various holes, the new one merely has swappable heads. It manages to update the original while somewhat replicating the original action features - you see, on the original he had armor that popped down and what I assume are twin green snake strap-ons pop out, and this new version has removable armor plates where you can plug in red snakes. In terms of sculpting, deco, and accessories, this is a good action figure. It's not a bad figure - far from it - I just don't care about the Snake Men so much, despite their being an important part of the original 1980s toy line. Snake Face was not one I was excited to see, so it sat around for a year in his packaging - I opened it in May of this year. Sometimes I get a figure in this line and it just sits.
